DOHA, September 15, 2017 – The Qatar bowling team is preparing to participate in the upcoming 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Games will kick off in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on Saturday.
Qatar bowling team delegation will leave Doha on Sunday to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan for the prestigious event. The delegation includes four players, Jassim Al Muraikhi, Ghanim Abo Gasoum, Yousef Al Jaber, Saud Abdulaziz alongside coach Pedro Merani and assistant coach Khalifa Al Kubaisi.
The 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) which is hosted by Turkmenistan will bring together athletes representing 22 countries competing in 21 group and individual events.
Earlier on Monday, the Qatar Olympic Committee announced the country's sport delegation to the prestigious event. The delegation is headed by HE Dr. Thani Abdulrahman Al-Kuwari, the QOC Secretary General accompanied by Ahmed Al Muftah, President of Qatar Basketball Federation and Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiyah, President of Qatar Equestrian Federation.
QOC has confirmed that an estimated 50 Qatari athletes are due to compete in a number of sports events including athletics, chess, billiard, swimming, weight lifting, equestrian , taekwondo, bowling and basketball.
