DOHA, October 2, 2017-The junior tennis tournament organised by the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF) Tennis will begin at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex on Monday.
The event will bring together 80 players including; Rayan al Jefairi, Ibrahim al Sulaiti, Rashed Nayef, Mohammad al Sumaiti, Hassan al Obaidli, Amna Homoud, Maysa al Thani, Hend al Modaihki, Abdulaziz Zainal and Ghanim al Khelaifi.
Khalid al Khelaifi, Head of the QTSBF National Teams Committee, said that the tournament comes as parts of the federation's strategy to develop tennis in Qatar.
Khelaifi added that holding this type of tournaments will help strengthen the competitiveness of the players and will help them improve their skills.
"The tournament will prepare our players for the upcoming regional and international competitions," Khelaifi said.
The tournament will be held in one-round league format for singles event and knockout format for doubles event.
Meanwhile the Doha Asian Junior Squash tournament concluded on Saturday.
The tournament, which started on September 27, featured players from Qatar, Pakistan, Iraq and Iran.
