DOHA, November 1, 2017-The volleyball competitions at the Schools Olympic Program (SOP) began at the indoor hall of the Qatar Volleyball Association on Tuesday.
In secondary schools event, Omar bin Al Khatab School defeated Rawdat Rashid School and Doha School outplayed Al Sailiyah School.
Moreover, Nasser bin Abdullah School trounced the religious institute.
Abdullah Al Missned School edged past Ahmad bin Mohammad Al School while Musaab bin Umair School downed Hassan bin Thabit School.
Abdulrahman Al Muftah, Executive Director of the Qatar School Sport Federation (QSSF) said that the current event features the participation of 400 schools.
The SOP is held annually as a collaborative effort of Qatar School Sports Federation (QSSF) and Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with hundreds of student athletes competing from all over Qatar.
The SOP committee aims to spread a culture of sports throughout Qatar's schools and to engage the entire community in active and healthy lifestyles while retaining local values and traditions.
