DOHA, February 17, 2018-Mubarak Yousuf al-Rumaihi showed superb form as he clinched the first and second place of the Medium Tour in the eighth leg of Hathab National Equestrian Series at the Qatar Equestrian Federation arena yesterday.
Al-Rumaihi rode his chestnut gelding Viking D to a flawless routine in the Table A, One round against the clock with jump off Art. 238.2.2 QR20,000 class needing 78.92secs and 32.32secs in jump off to emerge on top.
He returned to the arena a second time riding grey gelding SIEC Cosmos Winjgaardhoeve Z and clocked 84.18secs and 34.45secs in the jump off to claim the runners-up spot as well.
Salmeen Sultan al-Suwaidi, on chestnut gelding Guilder's Empire of the Sun, finished third in 82.44secs and 34.67secs in jump off.
Earlier in the Small Tour, Hamad Nasser al-Qadi continued his good run as he rode Gysmo 26 with authority and finished first in 49.71secs in the Accumulator with Joker Art. 269.5 (110/115cm) event. He garnered 65 points to collect the top prize of QR2,500.
Mohammed Khalid al-Qashouti on Alegro 84 also gained the same number of points but timed 55.42secs and had to settle for the second spot.
Jaber Rashid al-Amri, riding bay Dynamic Diablo, finished third in 56.85secs.
Today, the riders will return to action for dressage, medium and big tour competition.
