Qatar continues preparation for Iran and Iraq Matches in World Basketball Cup Qualifiers

​Doha, June 27, 2018-Qatar national basketball team will continue their intensive preparations under British coach Tim Lewis for the last two qualifier matches in the Asian Group D qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup in China.

Qatar national basketball team training included physical, technical and planning preparations, and was attended by all 14 players.

The technical team is scheduled to decide the list of the 12 players to enter the closed camp on Thursday, ahead of their match against Iran on Friday in Doha.

The Qatari team will continue to play after Iran's match and play their final qualifier against Iraq in Doha on Monday.

Qatar is ranked 60th in the world ranking and 11 in Asian ranking, and third in Group D with 5 points behind Iran with 7 points and Kazakhstan with the same balance, while Iraq is fourth and last with 5 points.

The Qatari team, which is equal to the Iraqi counterpart in the number of points with 5 each, competes for the third place qualifying for the group, after the team of Iran and Kazakhstan get the first two places to qualify for the World Cup.
