Qatar's U20 Volleyball Team arrive in Bahrain for Asian Championship

DOHA, July 20, 2018 - Qatar's national volleyball arrived in Bahrain on Thursday to take part in the 2018 Asian Men's U20 Volleyball Championship, which will be run until July 29 with the participation of 24 teams divided into eight groups.

The tournament draw, which was conducted in the Thai capital of Bangkok in February, placed Qatar in Group D alongside Bahrain and Iraq. Group A comprises Iran, South Korea and China, Group B comprises Japan, Thailand and Turkmenistan, Group C comprises Australia, Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan, Group E comprises Saudi Arabia, Chinese Taipei and Pakistan, Group F comprises Hong Kong, Jordan and UAE, Group G comprises India, New Zealand and Uzbekistan, and Group H comprises Malaysia, the Maldives and Macau.

Qatar will kick off their participation when they take on hosts Bahrain on Sunday before they play Iraq the following day.

The team's coaching staff has named a 10-man squad that comprises Rashid Al Kuwari, Khalid Waleed Al Obaidly, Abdulrahman Al Jamali, Amr Jamil Abed, Mohamed Abdulrahman, Bashar Adnan Al Tamimi, Mohamed Al Waleed, Mohamed Moussa Othman, Abdulrahman Tariq and Mohamed Abdullah Ahmed.

The national team prepared for the tournament with a domestic camp that featured daily training at the federation's hall.
