KAZAN, July 30, 2018 - Qatar beach handball team ranked ninth in World Beach Handball Championship, which came to an end on Sunday in the Russian city of Kazan after beating Oman 2-1.
The Qatari team lost their chance to reach the semi-finals after finishing fifth in Group B.
Qatar beat Sweden 2-0 and lost to Brazil 0-2 and Russia 1-2, after topping Group C in the preliminary round following two wins against Australia 2-0 and Denmark with the same result and an ineffective loss to Oman 1-2.
Qatar's beach handball team featured 10 players in the Kazan finals.
The team had qualified for the World Beach Handball Championship after winning the sixth Asian Championship in Thailand last year for the fourth time in a row.
