CAIRO, Egypt, August 5, 2018 – Qatar teams started doubles and singles events at the Arab Table Tennis Championship 2018 with high performance in Cairo on Saturday.
Qatar's Ahmed Khalil thrashed his Iraqi opponent Ahmed Abdulhosein 3-0 in single event in group B. likewise Qatar's duo Yousef Ali Hossein and Abdulaziz Al Hagagi recorded an easy 3-0 victory over Sudanese counterparts Al Tayab Mustafa and Hatim Taha to book place in the last four stage.
In Youth class, Qatar's duo Mohammed Abdulwahab and Abdurrahman Al Nagar continued their impressive performance, Abdulwahab confidently defeated Sudanese rival Mohammed Hossein 3-0, while his teammate Al Nagar outclassed Al Saied Murtada of Bahrain 3-0.
Qatar's Abdul-Aziz Al Hagagi defeated Ahmed Salem of Mauritania 3-0, while Qatar's girls team sparkled where Aya Magdi defeated Algeria champion 3-0 and her teammate, Shahad Abdulhady Al Maki outclassed Lebanese opponent Fatima Al Dagdoogi 3-1.
The prestigious event is bringing together a number of Arab nations including Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen, Palestine, Sudan, Iraq, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon hosts Egypt who are competing in different categories.
Around 386 players competing in five different categories of Under-21, Under-18 and Under-15 years.
