Angola defeat Qatar in IHF World Men's Handball Championship
COPENHAGEN, Denmark ,January 12, 2019 – Qatar's handball team suffered a narrow 24-23 defeat on Friday at the hands of Angola in its opening game of prestigious IHF World Men's Handball Championship 2019 taking place in Germany and Denmark.
Qatar team made impressive performance in the game and was closer to victory , but the Angolan side was stronger, dominated and took the victory.
Qatar team will lock horns against Egypt in the same group D on Sunday, followed by the third encounter against Hungary on Monday and will face Sweden on Wednesday.
The participating teams are distributed into four groups; Qatar is pooled in group D alongside Sweden, Hungary, Argentina, Egypt and Angola.
World Men's Handball Championship 2019 is the 26th event hosted by the International Handball Federation taking place in Denmark and Germany from 10 to 27 January 2019
