Team Qatar to participate in FINA Marathon Swim World Series in Seychelles
DOHA, May 6, 2019- The Qatari swimming team including Mohammad Mahmoud and Ahmad Samarah will participate in the second round of the 2019 FINA Marathon Swim World Series to be held in Seychelles on Sunday.
The Qatari capital city of Doha hosted the first round of the event on February 16. A total of 138 swimmers including 87 male and 51 female athletes from 24 countries participated in the first round.
Ana Marcela Cunha of Brazil and Florian Wellbrock of Germany emerged victorious on Doha's iconic Corniche.
It worth mentioning that Qatar's Mohammad Mahmoud claimed the gold medal of 5km race at the 17th GCC Open Water Swimming Championship held in Kuwait recently.
