Al Adaam wins Swiss Beach Volleyball Championship
GENEVA, Switzerland, June 24, 2019 – Qatar's beach volleyball team claimed the title of the Swiss national Championship after defeating home side Switzerland 2-0 in the final.
Qatar Ahmed Tijan and Sherif Younis overcame swiss opponents 21-18 and 27-25 to win the title.
The tournament was part of Qatar's team preparations for participation in the FIVB 2019 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Hamburg, Germany, from June 28 to July7 for men and women, with a prize of one million dollars.
Qatar participates in the World Championship with two teams. Qatar A plays in Group D along with Belgium, Czech, and Sierra Leone. Qatar B participates in Group E along with Russia, Brazil, and the USA.
