Sheikh Joaan crowns Men's 100m winners

DOHA, September 30, 2019 – HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Chairman of the Doha 2019 World Athletics Championships crowned the top three winners in the Men's 100m race took place at Khalifa International Stadium in Doha on Sunday.

Christian Coleman of the United States lived up to his top billing to win the first blue-riband 100 metres final without Usain Bolt at the world athletics championships for his first major outdoor career title.

Coleman, 23, stormed out of the blocks and was never troubled as he captured gold in a personal best 9.76 seconds for sixth on the all-time list.

Compatriot defending and two-time champion Justin Gatlin earned a third 100m silver in 9.89 seconds and the bronze went to Canada's Andre de Grasse, as in 2015, in a personal best 9.90 seconds.
