Qatar lose to Bahrain in semis of Olympic qualifiers
Doha, October 25, 2019-Qatar suffered a 26-28 defeat at the hands of Bahrain in the semifinals of the Asian Men's Handball Qualification Tournament for Tokyo 2020 Olympics on Thursday.
Only the winners of the tournament, being held at Al Duhail Arena, is assured of a place in the Tokyo Games.
In the other semifinals match, South Korea defeated Saudi Arabia 29-26.
While the champions will receive the ticket to the Tokyo Games, the runners up will have to compete in the playoffs next April.
It is the second time in a row that Qatar is hosting the Asian Men's Handball Qualification Tournament for the Olympic Games.
