KUWAIT- Team Qatar athlete Khalid Sameer has fought tooth and nail to snatch the bronze medal of the Men’s Kumite Karate over 84kg at the ongoing GCC Games in Kuwait on Monday.
Monday’s bronze medal was Qatar’s second medal in Karate event, after Adham Hashim clinched the bronze medal of Men’s individual Kata on Sunday.
The GCC Games which began on May 16, feature the participation of more than 1700 athletes competing in 16 sports including athletics, 3x3 basketball, basketball, cycling (road), e-sports, fencing, futsal, handball, ice hockey, judo, karate, padel, shooting, swimming, tennis, table tennis and volleyball. The state of Qatar is represented by 170 athletes.
