Basra: The Qatari national football team began their campaign at the 25th Gulf Cup with a 2-0 victory over their Kuwaiti counterparts at Al-Minaa Stadium in the Iraqi city of Basra on Saturday.
The Qatari national team's double was scored by Omar Siraj in minute (23), and Ahmed Alaa in minute (38) from a penalty kick.
With this result, the Qatari team topped their group with three points, while the Kuwaiti team remained with zero points.
The left winger of the Qatari team, Omar Siraj, won the best player of the match award.
