DOHA – The competitions of the 2023 Qatar Olympic Committee Ramadan Tournament, which runs from 11th to 19th of Ramadan, corresponding 2nd to 10th of April, were kicked off at the Lusail Shooting Range on Sunday.
Tournament opening day has seen competitive games in Beach Volleyball preliminary stage for QOC’s departments. In the first game Procurement department team defeated Secretariat-General Office 2-0 (21-12) and (21-15), while in the second game Public Relations outclassed Secretariat-General Office 2-1 (21-17), ( 21-18) and (20-15).
In the third game, Procurement team again produced a solid performance to get better of Public Relations 2-0 ( 22-20) and (21-7).
QOC departments Beach volleyball preliminary stage will continue on Monday, where Sport Affairs will lock horns against Finance Affairs in the first game, as the second game will see President Office team taking on Finance Affairs and President Office will face Sport Affairs in the third game.
Thursday schedule will be busy with two events, shooting event (Shotgun + Air gun) for both Men & Women and family walk for QOC employees and families, while Padel Event-Doubles (Men) will begin from Saturday.
In this year, the QOC Ramadan Tournament is seeing three sport disciplines, competitions of QOC’s Departments Beach Volleyball teams, Shooting event (Shotgun + Air gun) for both Men & Women , Padel Event-Doubles (Men), plus a family walk, is a special sport activity for the QOC employees and their families , as by the end of the event, medals will be distributed to all participating children.
This tournament is accompanied by a series of entertainment activities for all age groups that in the frame of the QOC’s social responsibility to bring public together through sports.
By organizing this annual sport event, the QOC always aims to inscribe the true values of sports , promotes Olympism and strengthens Sport For Life idea among employees during the holy month of Ramadan.
