Draw of AHF Asian Men’s Handball Championship on Friday

Manama: The draw ceremony for the highly anticipated 21st AHF Asian Men’s Handball Championship will take place in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain on Friday, November 10, 2023. 

A total of sixteen teams, including two from Oceania, are set to vie for supremacy in this prestigious competition. 

The participating teams will be divided into four groups, each consisting of four teams, following the AHF COC Regulations and taking into account their ranking from the previous edition of the championship.

Draw Pots:
Pot 1: Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, I. R. Iran
Pot 2: Republic of Korea, Iraq, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates
Pot 3: Oman, Hong Kong (China), India, Australia
Pot 4: Japan, P. R. China, Chinese Taipei, New Zealand

The 21st AHF Asian Men’s Handball Championship is scheduled to unfold from January 11–22, 2024, in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This event carries significant weight, as it also serves as a qualification tournament for the 29th IHF Men’s Handball World Championship. The top four teams from this championship will directly secure their spots in the forthcoming World Championship, slated to be held in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway from January 9–27, 2025. Additionally, there’s a chance for a team from Oceania to qualify, specifically Australia or New Zealand, provided they attain a ranking of fifth or higher in the competition.
