LAUSANNE - Qatar's beach volleyball team of duo Cherif Younes and Ahmed Tijan ranked 11th in the recently announced FIVB Men's Beach Volleyball World Ranking.
The team collected 5980 points from their participation in 10 international championships and tours during the last period, while Mol & Sorum of Norway lead the ranking with 8860 points.
Most notably, team Qatar duo were knocked out from last eight round in Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Joao Pessoa Elite16 by Dutch duo, Boermans & De Groot after suffering 15-21, 21-21 and 15-13 defeat.
The Qatari team, the winner of the bronze medal in the men's beach volleyball in Tokyo Olympics 2020, had many distinguished results in recent years, led by duo Cherif Younes and Ahmed Tijan who presented dazzling levels and placed the national team among the first teams in the world rankings.
