DOHA, February 28, 2018-The players of Al Rayyan Volleyball Team were given a festive reception at Hamad International Air Port on Tuesday after winning the title of the 2018 Arab Club Volleyball Championship held in Tunisia.
In the final match, they defeated hosts Esperance Sportive de Tunis in straight sets (25-22, 25-18, 25-23).
Qatar League leaders Rayyan, who thrashed Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal 25-15, 25-14, 25-18 in the semifinal, dished out another stunning show in the title clash and the Tunisians had simply no answers.
Esperance Sportive de Tunis defeated Qatar's other representative Al Arabi 25-19, 25-19, 25-15 in the semifinal.
The eighteen teams that participated in the championship were Morocco's FAR, Bahrain's Al Ahli, Iraq's Al Shorta, Libya's Alahly Benghazi, Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad, Qatar's Al Rayyan, Libya's Asswehly, Algeria's GS Petroliers, Palestine's Sngl, Tunisia's E.S.Sahel, Qatar's Al Arabi, Oman's Al Slam, Saudi Al Hilal, Tunisia's Esperance S.T, Sudan's Al Amen, Oman's Al Seeb, Iraq's Al Peshmerga, and Algeria's Bordj Bou Arreridj.
