Draw held for QSL Cup
The Qatar Stars League held the draw for the upcoming QSL Cup on Monday at Al Bidda Tower. The event held in the presence of Ahmed al Adsani, Director of Competitions Department at the Qatar Stars League and officials of various clubs.
The 12 QNB Stars League sides have been divided into two groups of six each.
The tournament will be organised after third week of QNB Stars League, when the competition takes a two-week break for international football. QSL officials said further details of the competition, including match dates and stadiums, will be announced in due course following liaison with the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The U23 and youth players are eligible to play in the tournament and any cards picked up in the competition are separate from the disciplinary procedures of the league programme.
After the single round robin matches, two top sides from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
The Groupings
Group A: Al Duhail, Al Gharafa, Al Kharaitiyat, Al Sailiya, Al Khor and Qatar Sports Club
Group B: Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Umm Salal, Al Arabi, Al Ahli and Al Markhiya.
