HE Sheikh Joaan leads QOC delegation at ANOC Meetings
TOKYO, Japan, November 29, 2018 - President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani chaired QOC delegation at the ongoing General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) taking place in Japanese's capital of Tokyo on Wednesday.
The ANOC meeting is bringing together 1400 sport personalities worldwide representing all National Olympic Committees (NOCs), IOC, International Sport Federations and Olympic Games organizing committees.
The Qatar's delegation to ANOC meeting also includes HE Dr. Thani Al -Kawari, The QOC Second Vice President and HE Jassim Al Boenein, the QOC Secretary General.
The meeting has seen approval on the new executive Office , the assembly also seen presentations from the two remaining bids for the 2026 Winter Games , Stockholm and Italian joint bidders Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo , following withdrawals from five other bids including the Japanese city of Sapporo.
On Thursday, the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee will give a report on the status of the host city's preparations amid an intense period of Olympic activity in the capital.
