Mohamed Saadon al-Kuwari unveiled as official SC ambassador

DOHA, June 01, 2018-The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) – the body responsible for delivering the infrastructure required to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar – has unveiled renowned sports broadcaster Mohamed Saadon al-Kuwari as an official ambassador.

Saadon – a former professional tennis player on the ATP Tour and Qatar Davis Cup representative – is a widely respected senior sports presenter with Qatari network beIN SPORTS, known to millions across the Mena region. In addition to his extensive journalism experience, he has been a long-standing supporter of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the SC – and has supported numerous initiatives in the past.

He has been an ambassador for the SC's flagship innovation award, Challenge 22, volunteered for the international football for development programme Generation Amazing, and volunteered at the Accessibility Forum – the SC's ground-breaking initiative to ensure the 2022 FIFA World Cup is the most accessible in the tournament's history.

Following a ceremony at Al Bidda Tower, in the presence of SC Secretary-General, Hassan al-Thawadi, Assistant Secretary-General for Tournament Affairs, Nasser al-Khater, and Communications Director, Fatma al-Nuaimi, Saadon was presented with an SC shirt to officially welcome him into the ambassador programme.

As an official ambassador, Saadon will represent the SC's legacy programmes – including but not limited to Generation Amazing, Challenge 22, Community Engagement and the Josoor Institute – in Qatar and across the region. In addition to his regional appearances, he will also represent the SC at two global initiatives, including the Generation Amazing activation at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.
