Zurich, August 02, 2018- Qatar Chess team achieved impressive results during their participation in Biel International Chess Festival which concluded today in Switzerland. Salih al Hor finished second in the category of Under-18 rapid chess.
Salih al-Hor won 6 points and a half and finished in ninth place among 150 players, which led him to get 300 points in the international classification.
For his part, Ghanem Al Shamari got 5 points and a half in the category of Masters, while Mohamed Nasser Al-Sayed got 5 points at the end of the ninth round, and Husain Aziz succeeded to collect 4 points.
The Chairman of Qatar Chess Association Mohammed Al Medaihki, expressed his great satisfaction with the results achieved by Qatar team at Biel International Chess Festival, pointing out that this participation was part of preparations for the World Olympiad, and the tournament provided important opportunities to play against world chess stars.
