Muscat, July 24, 2018- Qatar men's junior handball team will wrap up their participation in the 16th Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship, which is taking place in Oman's Salalah with the participation of 14 teams.
Qatar will face Oman on Tuesday to determine the seventh and eighth places after they both exited the championship and failed to secure one of the top three qualifying positions for the world championship in Spain next year.
Semifinal matches are scheduled for today as Group A winners South Korea play Group B second-place Saudi Arabia, while Group B winners Japan take on Group A second-place Bahrain.
Another match is also scheduled to determine the fifth and sixth place with Iraq facing Iran.
Qatar enter the match today after five matches in the championship, of which they won two, lost two and drew one. The team seek to achieve a morale-boosting victory in the final match after missing out on a spot in the World Cup.
The team prepared for the match in the gym hall, especially for the players who did not participate in the match against Japan, while others were given rest and light exercise after playing three consecutive matches in three days.
