Qatar Goalball Team return to a warm welcome
DOHA, September 23, 2019-Qatar's goalball team were accorded a warm reception on their arrival in Doha on Sunday after winning the gold medal at the 2019 West Asian Para Games held in Amman, Jordan from September 15-22.
In the final match held on Saturday, Qatar defeated Iraq 9-7.
Moreover, Qatar's Sarah Masoud claimed the gold medal of women's Shot Put event while Abdulrahman Abdulqader took the silver medal of men's Shot Put event and the bronze medal of men's Javelin Throw.
HE Mr. Jassim bin Rashed Al Buenain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), Mr. Hamad Lahdan Al Mohannadi, Director of the QOC Support Services Sector, Mr. Khaleel Ibrahim Al Jabir, Director of the QOC Sport Affairs Department, Dr. Hassan Al Ansari Secretary General of the Qatar Paralympic Committee received the delegation at Hamad International Airport.
The games brought together 7000 athletes from 12 nations including; Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Yemen, UAE, Bahrain and hosts Jordan.
