Qatar Junior Handball Team To Start Final Phase of its Preparation for Asian Championship

Tunis, June 25, 2018 - The Qatari junior handball team will start on Monday the final phase of its preparation program for the 16th Asian Men's Junior (U-21) Handball Championship which will be held in the Sultanate of Oman from 16 to 26 July, qualifying for the World Championships in Spain next year.

The final phase of the preparation will be in the external camp in Tunisia, which lasts until July 5, and the team will play four matches, including two matches against his Tunisian counterpart, in addition to two matches against local teams.

The Qatari team played two matches against Japan recently, losing the first (21/22) and the second (19/25).

The draw of the 16th Asian Men's Junior (U-21) Handball Championship, put Qatar team in the second group alongside the teams of Iraq, Palestine and Syria.

Qatar will start the competition by playing against Syria on July 16, and the Qatari team will play their second match against Palestine on July 17, and they will finish their first round by playing against Iraq on July 18.

Qatar team is looking to maintain the title in the last four editions of the championship in 2010 in Iran, 2012 in Qatar, 2014 in Iran and 2016 in Jordan, and to qualify for the next year's World Cup in Spain for the tenth time in the history of Qatari handball.
