DOHA, May 31, 2018-The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) celebrated the World Challenge Day, which falls on May 30 each year, under the auspices of the Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA) which aims to raise awareness of the importance of sport.
Supervisor of the activities of the World Challenge Day, Refaa al-Dosari, said that this day falls within the framework of TAFISA, the world's leading sports association for all the world.
The QOC focuses on the younger age groups of students on the World Challenge Day which aims to raise awareness of sport and physical health, she said, adding that there is also the World Walking Day for other groups.
The World Challenge Day includes various sports competitions and competitive contests among participants as well as awareness lectures on the importance of sport to improve public health, Refaa al-Dosari said, pointing out that the selection of the activities are co-ordinated by the sports affairs department at QOC and the schools where events are held annually.
