Qatar's Abdulrahman Samba dreams of new record at Doha World Athletics Championships

DOHA, July 5, 2018 - Qatari athlete Abdulrahman Samba said that he dreams of breaking the 400m hurdles record at Doha World Athletics Championships next year after reaching under 47 seconds in the race.

Last Saturday, Samba won the seventh stage of the Diamond League, the second-best international record in history, recording 46.98 seconds.

Samba comes second after American Kevin Young, the current record holder for the 46.78 race, which he scored on August 6, 1992 at Barcelona Olympics.

Samba, who finished seventh in the 2017 World Cup in London, said he dreams of breaking the US record when Qatar hosts the World Athletics Championships from September 28 to October 6, 2019.

He added before the start of the competition for Lausanne, the eighth phase of the Diamond League, that he is excited to participate in the World Championship, and breaking the record in Doha would be very wonderful, and he hopes to live again those feelings and to run faster.
