QOC President attends Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games opening ceremony

007.jpgTURKMENISTAN, September 18, 2017 – His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) attended on Sunday the opening ceremony of the prestigious 5th edition of Asian Indoor and Martial Games 2017 which got underway in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on Sunday.

The prestigious event on Sunday saw a colorful opening ceremony unfolding the country's high organizational abilities in hosting major sport events and reflecting its rich culture and history.

The opening ceremony brought together 7500 performers, 200 persons and more than 100 horses.

The best athletes from Asia and Oceania are competing in Turkmenistan beautiful white-stoned venues in 21 different sports for 12 days.

An estimated 50 Qatari athletes are competing in a number of sports events including athletics, chess, billiard, swimming, weight lifting, equestrian , taekwondo, bowling and basketball.
