SOP Taekwondo competitions conclude

DOHA, March 18 , 2019 – Taekwondo competitions at the prestigious Schools Olympic Program 2018-2019 were successfully concluded at Aspire Academy on Sunday.

At the first level competitions, student Hassan Mohammed from Newton International school grabbed the gold medal, while in the 25kg event , student Mazin Mohammed from Royal school won the first place.

In the 33 kg competitions, student Baraa Tarek from Tunisian school claimed the first place and in the 37kg, Mohammed Ashraf from Palestinian school seized the first place.

At the victory ceremony, Fajr Al Kubaisi, board member of Qatar School Sports Association and Abdo Ibrahim from Taekwondo Federation crowned the winners in a festive sport scene.

The SOP is held annually as a collaborative effort of Qatar School Sports Federation (QSSF) and Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with hundreds of student athletes competing from all over Qatar.

The SOP committee aims to spread a culture of sports throughout Qatar's schools and to engage the entire community in active and healthy lifestyles while retaining local values and traditions.​
