Special need students shine on SOP closing day

DOHA, May 02, , 2018 – The competitions of students with special needs from different age groups at the prestigious Schools Olympic Program (SOP) were successfully concluded on Tuesday.

The event's closing day saw impressive performance from students both boys and girls who competed in high spirit and showed big determination of victory.

At the victory ceremony, Mr. Hamad Al Manae, the board member of Qatar School Sports Federation (QSSF) and Abdulrahman Al Moftah, QSSF executive director and Dr. Hassan Al Ansari , Secretary General of Qatar Paralympic Committee crowned the top winners.

The SOP is held annually as a collaborative effort of Qatar School Sports Federation (QSSF) and Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with hundreds of student athletes competing from all over Qatar.

The SOP committee aims to spread a culture of sports throughout Qatar's schools and to engage the entire community in active and healthy lifestyles while retaining local values and traditions.
