Stage set for IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019
DOHA, September 22, 2019 – IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 will act as a golden chance for Qatari sport officials to get further organizational experience and administrative background when this world athletics event gets underway on a Qatari soil at Khalifa International stadium.
The organizing committee has repeatedly confirmed on more than occasion that an elite Qatari youth group, equipped with experience and knowledge will manage the event to be sport leaders in the future.
A number of sport officials from Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy are engaged in the Athletics Mondial, that in preparation for more world sport event scheduled in Doha , including FIFA World Cup. Qatar 2022.
Entry lists for the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 confirm that more than 1900 athletes from 209 teams will be in action in the Qatari capital.
The 1928 entries comprise 1039 men and 889 women. Of the 44 individual winners from two years ago, 38 will defend their titles in Doha. All 30 of the newly minted Diamond League champions will also be in action.
Abdullah Al-Mulla, Media and Broadcasting director at the LOC, said that the 2019 edition of the event will be covered by 700 media representatives, with some of the biggest names in world media, including DPA, Reuters, AFP, Xinhua and BBC, expected to come to Doha.
