Students display impressive performance in SOP football events

DOHA, February 22, 2019 - Aspire Academy playground has witnessed impressive performance from students of different learning stages who competed in football events on Thursday.

In group A event for secondary schools, Tunisian school and Blyth Academy confidently booked their spots in the last four stage, following convincing wins over Pakistan International School and Indian MIS school respectively.

Meanwhile in the group B, Palestinian school and Michael DeBakey school recorded deserving victories to reach the semifinals stage.

At the primary school level, El Zubair bin Awam school and Al Ekhlass model school reached the last eight stage after defeated their respective opponents. In the same level, Muaz bin Gabal and Sumaisma schools booked places in the quarterfinals.

The SOP is held annually as a collaborative effort of Qatar School Sports Federation (QSSF) and Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with hundreds of student athletes competing from all over Qatar.

The SOP committee aims to spread a culture of sports throughout Qatar's schools and to engage the entire community in active and healthy lifestyles while retaining local values and traditions.
