Students sparkle in SOP football competitions

DOHA, January 21, 2020 – Students from different learning stages have displayed impressive football skills during the game competitions in the Schools Olympic Program (SOP) took place at Aspire Academy playgrounds on Monday.

In the primary schools' football competitions, International Researchers School defeated Royal International 3-0 in group A, while in group B, Al Noor School beat Al Faisal Academy 2-0.

On the same track of victory, Newton Academy outclassed Al Zeitouna International 4-2 and continued winning streak to defeat Bhavan Public 2-1.

Al Manar International School topped its respective group, following their 4-0 victory over Spectra school, while Cambridge International defeated Palestinian counterparts 4-0.

The SOP is held annually as a collaborative effort of to encourage hundreds of students athletes competing from all over Qatar.

The SOP Committee aims to spread a culture of sports through Qatar's schools and to engage the entire community in active and healthy lifestyles while retaining local values and traditions.
