DOHA, September 26, 2017 - The draw ceremony of the 23rd Gulf Football Cup scheduled to be held in Qatar from December 23 to January 5 was conducted in Doha on Monday.
The draw ceremony was attended by the Qatar Olympic Committee Secretary General, HE. D Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the President of Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) and President of Qatar Football Association (QFA), Saoud Al Mohannadi, the QFA Deputy President and Jassim Al Rumaihi, the AGCFF Secretary General .
Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq and Yemen have been drawn in Group A, with Saudi Arabia, Oman and the UAE in Group B. Kuwait will join Group B if their FIFA suspension is lifted.
In a press release on Monday, Mr. Jassim Al Rumaihi, the AGCFF Secretary General has confirmed that all managerial and technical arrangements were made. Adding that if the absence of representatives from UAE, KSA and Bahrain continued after the draw ceremony, the championship will held in one format league, accordingly the decision in such respect will be taken by the AGCFF Executive Office and General Assembly.
