Hassouna wins best weightlifter title in Qatar Cup
DOHA, December 23, 2018 – Qatar's weightlifting star Fares Hassouna and China Taipei's champion Chun Kuching won the titles of best weightlifter in the closing scene of the prestigious 5th Qatar International Weightlifting Cup 2018 concluded at the Inter-Continental Doha on Saturday.
Hassouna , the 20-year-old claimed the title, following his sensational show in the Men's 96kg to win three gold medals in Snatch and Clean & Jerk category.
The prestigious championship brought together 56 weightlifters (men) and 61 weightlifters (women) who represented 33 countries.
The event is a qualifying tournament to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Qatar's Weightlifting and Fencing Federation Assistant Secretary General Arhama Ghanem Al Rumaihi lauded the significant success being achieved in the championship at both technical and organizational levels.
