Qatar’s Foil team wins Silver at Arab Fencing Championship
MANAMA, Bahrain, January 19, 2023 - Team Qatar produced a solid performance on Thursday to claim a sliver medal in the foil team competition of 2023 Arab Fencing Championship, which hosted by Kingdom of Bahrain for four days with the participation of eight Arab nations.
Team Qatar consisted of Ali Turki Oweida, Abdulla Ismaeel Khalifa and Khalid Aref Hussain took the silver medal following a 33-45 defeat at the hands of Egyptian team in the final match.
Thursday’s medal was the second of Qatar in the championship after Ali Turki Oweida won the bronze medal in Foil event earlier on Tuesday.
Most notably, Eight athletes have represented Qatar in the championship, including Ali Turki Oweida, Khalid Aref Hassain, Abdulla Ismaeel Khalifa, Jaber Omar, Mohammed Zeid Al Olan, Abdulrhman Al Gadra, Mosfer Mishaal Al Qhtani and Haya Diab.
