Team Qatar qualify for Mongolia 3x3 U-23 finals

Doha: Team Qatar qualified for the Mongolia 3x3 U-23 finals, after being crowned FIBA 3x3 U-23 Nations League - Doha (West Asia), whose competitions concluded in the Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) court in Al Gharafa, with the participation of 4 Teams, namely: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Turkmenistan.

Qatar U-23 team will compete in the Mongolia finals to determine the qualifiers for the FIBA 3x3 U-23 World Cup, which will be held in Poland from Sept. 27 to Oct.1.

Qatar U-23 team managed to win against Jordan (17-13), against Saudi Arabia (21-13), and against Turkmenistan (21-15). With that result, the Qatar U-23 team managed to achieve the title of 3 rounds out of 6, whose competitions were held in Doha, where they won the title of the first, fourth, and sixth rounds, and finished runners-up for the second and third rounds.

President of QBF Mohammed Saad Al Mughaiseeb expressed his happiness with the success of the Qatar U-23 team and reaching the Mongolia 3x3 U-23 finals, which qualifies for the FIBA 3x3 U-23 World Cup that will be held in Poland, saying that the team includes promising players who will have bright future in the 3x3 competitions.

Al Mughaiseeb praised the technical level of all the national teams, indicating that QBF pays great interest to all age groups.

For his part, Secretary General of the QBF Saadoun Sabah Al Kuwari extended his congratulations to the basketball family for the achievement of Qatar U-23 team and their approach to qualifying for the FIBA 3x3 U-23 World Cup, after reaching the Mongolia 3x3 U-23 finals.

Al Kuwari said that this achievement confirms the strength of Qatari basketball and its superiority in the 3x3 competitions, as well as its entitlement to be the champion over the West Asian teams, as the tournament witnessed the participation of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Turkmenistan.
