Doha: Russia’s Mikhail Khodorchenko claimed the title of Qatar ITF Junior Open which was concluded at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex on Saturday.
In the final match of the boys’ singles category, Mikhail Khodorchenko defeated his compatriot Egor Shcherbakov 6-4 6-4 to clinch the title.
In girls’ singles category, Leyna Bey won the title after beating Russia’s Vlada Guryleva 6-4, 6-2.
The QTF Secretary General Tariq Zainal congratulated the winners and stressed that the tournament featured a very thrilling competition among the participating players.
"The federation is committed to organize such type of tournaments to provide the Qatari players with the opportunity to develop their levels by competing with other highly-ranked players" he said.
