Budapest- Qatari world high jump champion Mutaz Essa Barshim will compete in the high jump competition in the nineteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships with the participation of 2,000 male and female athletes representing different countries of the world The Qatari champion enters the challenge in search of the fourth consecutive gold medal in the competition after winning London 2017, Doha 2019 and Eugene 2022 editions.
Ranked the best athlete in the history of the high jump at the level of world championships, Mutaz Barshim has completed his preparations to defend his title through a series of training in a number of European countries in addition to a distinguished participation in three rounds of the Diamond League in Doha, Poland and London.
Barshim has already posted the world's leading mark this season, an impressive 2.36m at the Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial Diamond League meet in Chorzow, Poland, last month.
Runner Bassem Abdel Salam in the 400m hurdles and the promising Moaaz Mohamed in the discus throw will also represent Qatar Athletics team in the World Athletics Championships.
