Curtain comes down on QOC Beach Games 2022
Doha- The second edition the QOC Beach Games was concluded at the Cultural Village Katara on Friday, with the finals of football, volleyball, karate and swimming were held on the closing day.
H.E QOC Secretary General Jassim bin Rashid Al-Buenain and Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara Cultural Village crowned the winners. In attendance also were Presidents of National Sports Federations and Directors of QOC Departments.
The QOC Secretary General also honored the sponsors of the event including Cultural Village Katara (Official Sponsor), along with the Kobeco (Official Logistic Sponsor), A & H Sports (Official Supplier) and Elan Print (Official Supplier).
The second edition of the QOC Beach Games brought together 600 athletes who participated in five beach sports including Football, Volleyball, 3x3 Basketball, Swimming Marathon and Karate.
Al Mashaf claimed the title of Men's Beach Football event after beating Al Thakhira 2-1 in the final match held on Friday.
In Women's event, team 90 trounced Al Shaqab 10-3 to claim title.
Al Nosoor took the first place in Men's volleyball event after their 2-1 victory over Al Adaam on Friday while Al Moharebeen clinched the gold medal of Women's event after beating Al Maha 2-0 on Thursday.
In Men's basketball event, Pro Sports Lebanon took the first place after overwhelming EVO Basketball 16-11 in the final match while Sports Lab 1 claimed the title of women's event following their 7-6 victory over Pro Sports.
Adam Hashem of Qatar Academy led the standings of Men's Karate event ahead of Abdulhameed Shaweesh in the second place while Asma Mohamed and Waad Omer of Al Wakra Sports Club too the first and second places respectively in Women's event.
In Swimming Marathon held on Friday, Vadim Lebisky took the first place ahead of Omar Rami and Wasim Jaber in the second and third places respectively while Karim Salama, Tamim Al Hamayda and Noradin Khadash led the standings of youth under 15 years event.
The Tournament Director Rashid Saeed Adiba was delighted by success of the event on both technical and organizational levels as the event brought together more than 600 athletes.
Adiba hailed the contribution of cultural village Katara to the success of the second edition of the QOC Beach Games to deliver an edition to live to the Qatari reputation in organizing the major sports events.
For his part, the tournament deputy Director Mohamed Abdulsalam congratulated the winners of the second edition stressing that the success of this edition reflects the high levels of awareness to the importance of sports for all categories.
"We are looking forward for more upcoming edition of the QOC Games which comes in light of the legacy left by the ANOC World Beach Games, Doha 2019. " he said.
