Riyadh: The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani attended the 34th meeting of the Council of Presidents of GCC National Olympic Committees held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday.
The meeting reviewed and discussed different topics on its agenda to enhance the GCC common work in the field of sport.
On the other hand, H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani attended the opening ceremony of the Saudi Games 2022, held at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh on Friday.
H.E. Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Saudi Arabia Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, QOC First Vice President H.E. Mohamed bin Yousef Al Mana and QOC Secretary General H.E. Jassim bin Rashid Al-Buenain also attended the opening ceremony. The inaugural two-week event is being held in the Saudi capital until 7 November 2022.
The Saudi Games 2022 is being held in 20 venues across the city of Riyadh and features a total of 45 sports, including five Paralympic events, with more than 6,000 athletes set to participate.
