Manama-Team Qatar suffered a 24-27 defeat at the hands of Saudi Arabia in both sides' second match at 2022 Asian Men’s Youth Handball Championship currently held in Bahrain and set to run through August 31.
This loss freezes Qatar at two points logged from a Saturday 36-22 win over the UAE while Saudi Arabia jumps to four points after they secured a 44-22 victory over Iraq in their first match.
Qatar will resume their games on Tuesday when they clash with Iraq. On Wednesday, they will face Japan and wrap up their group stage matches against Kuwait on Friday.
The top five teams from the event will directly qualify for the 2023 IHF Men’s Youth (U19) World Championship, which will be held in Croatia in 2023.
