QOA launches fourth edition of Master's program in sports law

DOHA, October 27, 2020-The Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA) announced the launch of the fourth edition of the Master's program in sports law, which is being held by the Academy for the fourth year in a row.

The Masters programme will be delivered in cooperation with the University of LIeida, Spain, alongside a number of international organizations such as the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia, the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and the Qatar Olympic Committee. In addition to the official accreditation of the certificate by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar.

The programme aims to spread awareness and culture related to sports legal knowledge at the local and international levels, which adds to the knowledge and clarifications of international law, and how to deal with regulations and regulations correctly and professionally.

The lectures are provided by a number of professors who hold doctorate degrees in the legal fields specialized in the field of sports and workers at the Spanish University of LIeida, in addition to a group of international lecturers specialized in the field of sports law accredited either in The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) or the International Olympic Committee and the Federation of Olympic Committees ( The ANOC) as well as the continental federations, which adds to the scholars tangible facts that the lecturers fought on the ground in addition to their academic imprint.

The program also supports and develops legal organizations and departments in sports institutions, as well as legal services in the sports field at the local and international levels, and adds the academic character and summary of field experiences for its members to add a lot to their field.

The Qatar Olympic Academy annually introduces a master's program in sports law over a period of one year (ten semesters ) four days a month, in which students come to the headquarters of the Qatar Olympic Academy, but this year the fourth edition of the program is presented exceptionally in light of the challenges faced by the entire world in combating the Corona pandemic, whereas, the Qatar Olympic Academy decided that the study should be in the first five semesters in the distance learning system by Microsoft Teams program, while the last five semesters will be attended by the academys headquarters.

Moreover, the Qatar Olympic Academy has tended, since last April, to offer a number of its programs through distance education, through which it achieved great success and unparalleled turnout.

In this regard, the Executive Director of Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA), Saif Mohamed al-Nuaimi spoke about this program, saying that the master's program in sports law held by Qatar Olympic Academy is the only one in the region in this discipline specifically, and with the presence of these partners, who are the largest sports leaders in the world.

Setting up Master's Program in Sports Law aims to spread awareness and culture related to sports legal knowledge at the local and international levels; this adds to learners a lot of knowledge and clarifications on international law and how to deal with the regulations and systems correctly and professionally. It also work to support legal expertise and the development of legal bodies in sports institutions at the local and international levels, al-Nuaimi said.

The lectures will be given by a group of professors who hold doctoral degrees and international specialized and executive lecturers in the field of sports law from the Spanish University of Lleida and several international sports bodies, he added.
