DOHA - The third edition of the Qatar Olympic Committee Beach Games 2023, was kicked off at the Cultural Village Katara on Friday and will run from 10th to 17th of March with more than 800 participants are competing for top honors in seven beach games, , football , volleyball, 3x3 basketball, boxing , karate, swimming and Aquathlon.
The Games opening ceremony was attended by H.E QOC Secretary General , Jassim bin Rashid Al-Buenain, H.E General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), Dr. Khaled bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, H.E Ambassador of Indonesia to Qatar, Mr. Ridwan Hassan, senior sport personalities, Presidents of National Sports Federations and Directors of QOC Departments.
By hosting this event, the QOC aims to promote culture of beach games inside the Qatari community, increases base of participants and keeps its success alive after hosted incredible 2019 ANOC Beach Games in Doha.
These beach games are companied by entertainment and educational programs allocated for all age groups , with purpose of keeping sustainability campaign goes forward and to tell both citizen and resident about their part in preserving the environment and beaches in Qatar.
Opening day has seen mouth-watering competitions in beach football, beach volleyball, Aquathlon and boxing. Mostly notably, this current edition of QOC Beach Games are organized in the frame of cooperation between the Qatar Olympic Committee and the Indonesian Olympic Committee with purpose of transferring the QOC incredible experience it has after hosted inaugural ANOC World Beach Games in 2019 to their Indonesians counterpart who will be hosting the next edition from 5th to 12th August, 2023.
