DOHA – The high organising committee of Doha Diamond League 2023 chaired by Mr. Mohammed Issa Al Fadala, President of Qatar Athletics Federation , has announced on Sunday that all managerial and technical preparations are completed to host the first round of the event at Qatar Sports Club stadium in Doha on Friday.
Nearly 150 athletes, including world and Olympic champions from across the world will fight for top honors in the one day’s event in Doha.
Reigning Olympic and world high jump champion Mutaz Barshim and former world 400m hurdles bronze medallist Abderrahman Samba - two of Qatar’s star athletes - will get their Doha Diamond League campaigns underway at the Doha Meeting on May 5 on Friday.
The 2023 Wanda Diamond League comprises 14 meetings in total*, starting with Doha at the Qatar Sports Club on 5 May and concluding with a single final across two days in Eugene (16-17 September). Each of the 13 series meetings will be broadcast globally in a live two-hour programme.
