Qatar fencers win gold medal in teams event at Arab Games
Algeria – Qatar fencing team members, Ali Al-Athba, Abdullah Khalifa and Khalid Alyafi produced impressive performance on Tuesday to win the gold medal of the Men’s foil team event at the Arab Games, which is running from 5th to 15th July in Algeria.
Tuesday victory has raised up team Qatar medal tally to 15 medals, including
six gold, two silver and seven bronze medals.
On the same track of victory on Tuesday, Qatar handball and volleyball teams advanced to the semifinals stage , after convincing victory over Saudi Arabia and Palestine respectively.
Most notably, 115 Qatari athletes are competing in 16 sport disciplines, handball, volleyball, basketball, swimming, Triathlon (cycling only), athletics, gymnastics, chess, fencing, sailing, boxing, (goal ball and para-athletics), Karate, judo and badminton.
