Konya- The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Secretary General H.E Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain attended the eleventh General Assembly meeting of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation held on the sidelines of the fifth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games 2021 in Konya, Turkey, on Sunday.
The meeting also attended by Director of the QOC Sports Affairs Department Khaleel Al Jabir and a number of the QOC Senior officials.
The QOC Secretary General also visited Team Qatar athletes and delegation at the Athletes Village on Sunday. Al Buenain met the Qatari teams and urged them to do their best to make the country proud at the Islamic Solidarity Games.
A total of 54 countries are participating at the Islamic Solidarity Games to be held from August 9 to 18, 2022.
In this edition, 20 sports will be contested including; athletics, archery, 3x3 basketball, bocce, cycling (road and track events), fencing, football, gymnastics (artistic, aerobics, and rhythmic events), handball, judo, karate, kickboxing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling (freestyle and Greco-Roman events), as well as traditional archery. In addition, several paralympic sports are also competed at the Islamic Solidarity Games.
