Paris: Team Qatar shooter Saeed Abusharib competed in the men’s trap qualification rounds at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre on Monday.
After completing three rounds on day 1 of the event, Abusharib performed well, securing a score of 70. In his first three rounds, hitting 24, 22, and 24 targets, respectively.
Currently, Abusharib holds the 22nd position in the qualification rankings with a total score of 70 and a countback score of 25.
Sweden’s Rickard Levin-Anderson (74), and Australia’s James Willet (74) lead the scorers list after Day 1, with two more rounds remaining.
The top six shooters will advance to the medal round which will take place this evening.
Abusharib, who qualified for Paris 2024 by winning the silver medal in the men’s trap event at the Asian Shooting Championships in Changwon, South Korea, is one of the two Qatari shooters at the Paris Games.
